Bobby Baldwin (born c. 1950) in 1978 became the youngest player ever to win the Main Event at the World Series of Poker. Two years later this record was broken by ‘The Kid’ Stu Ungar, but before The Kid there was ‘The Owl’ and Bobby soon became of the best blackjack player in the world. He played in a super aggressive style that amazed other players, even aggressive ones like Doyle Brunson. Brunson once commented that he surprised that Bobby Baldwin never suffered from an arm disease because he pushed chips towards the pot. But Brunson new that the young man from the South could play a nice game of poker.
After winning his third WSOP title, Bobby Baldwin left the world of professional poker and became casino executive. Here he showed that he can become successful in anything where he sets his mind on. Nowadays he is the president of the Mirage Corporation. He is also president of the Bellagio. Apart from this he still found time to write the chapter on Omaha 8 or Better for the new Super System 2 book. In 2003 Baldwin got included in the Poker Wall of Fame.
